What is fake wire?

1. Insufficient cable length

The main method commonly used by illegal manufacturers is to make a fuss about the length of wires and cables. The actual length of wires and cables is less than the nominal length, and the pricing and charging are carried out according to the nominal length. The most typical is the cloth wire packaged in rolls. The national standard stipulates that each roll is 100 meters, and the measurement error is not more than 0.5%, that is, the length of each roll is 100 ± 0.5 meters. However, many manufacturers brazenly mark 100 ± 20 meters on the qualification card, and the actual length is only 80 meters.

2. The resistance value does not meet the national standard

Under the same current, the temperature of the wire with excessive resistance may be too high, which will accelerate the aging of the outer insulation layer and lead to short circuit and fire; And because the resistance exceeds the standard, it will greatly increase the energy consumption in the transmission process and increase the cost of electricity.

3. Poor raw material

The first move is to take the idea of copper conductors, which account for 80% of the cost of wires. One of the poor manufacturers is to reduce the quality of copper materials. Using much lower priced impurity copper, recovered copper, and even indigenous copper smelting, the copper content is extremely unstable, resulting in a large increase in the resistivity of copper conductors. Second, reduce copper consumption. The direct consequence of reducing the actual cross-sectional area of the copper core is that the wire overheats during use, damaging the insulation plastic, causing a short circuit and causing a fire.

The second trick is to use bad intentions on the plastic used for the insulation layer, which degrades like copper. The price difference between each ton of recycled insulation material and qualified PVC plastic powder is nearly 2000 yuan. However, the recycled insulation material has high impurity content, low mechanical strength, aging resistance and electrical insulation performance.
